But now the fiction has become a reality as Dubai Police has introduced the first ever Robocop, which can communicate in six languages and offer a salute to people. The interesting fact about this Dubai Police's Robocop is that; It's ready to involve with people and provide guidance without any training. The Robocop was unveiled this week in 4th Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) Dubai.

The Dubai police have officially inducted the world's first operational robot police officer into the force. The'robocop' is over 5 feet tall, weighs 100 kg and has a facial recognition software with which it can identify offenders. The robot is capable of speaking six languages and people can use its built-in tablet device to access various police services.

The emirate, one of seven in the UAE, is taking a technological leap of faith this week as it introduces its first robot officer to the Dubai police force. Designed by the Spanish company PAL Robotics, the specialized REEM robot stands 5 feet 6 inches high and looks like a knight in shining white plastic armor, riding in on its wheels (rather than a horse). This is just the first step for the Dubai police department. The department aims to have 25 percent of its police force composed of robot officers by the year 2030.

The 5 ft 5in tall robot can read facial expressions and will be used by members of the public to report crime and pay traffic fines. Multi-lingual crime-fighting robots will make up a quarter of the city's police force by 2030, according to officials. Real-life RoboCops will be patrolling the streets of Dubai alongside police. The android, which is equipped with face recognition technology, will be used by members of the public to report crime and pay traffic fines.

It's no RoboCop, but it'll come when it senses trouble. China's new robot police officers have started patrolling streets. The E-Patrol Robot Sheriff (E巡机器警长) is able to track and follow potential criminals or suspicious people via facial recognition, according to the Economic Daily. Besides fighting crime, the robot officer is also capable of monitoring air quality and temperature, and is pipped to be able to track potential criminal activity, safety hazards and potential fires. The 1.6 meter-tall robot moves autonomously using a system of cameras, and is currently at the Zhengzhou East Railway Station in Henan, where it is able to identify staff at the station by their work passes.
